Today is a day to cherish and reminisce about the diverse experiences that have contributed to our growth, both professionally and personally. Every event, talk, and convention has been instrumental in broadening our knowledge and connecting us with remarkable individuals. We extend heartfelt gratitude to God and all the people who have played a part in making each of these moments possible.

Jaime Roca es el socio fundador de ROCA, Doctor en Derecho por la Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) y graduado de Magíster en Derecho Empresarial y Legislación Económica por la Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). Es abogado y líder en el ámbito legal; como cabeza de ROCA se ha desarrollado y mostrado su capacidad en el derecho corporativo, fusiones y adquisiciones, inversión extranjera, franquicias, propiedad intelectual, regulación económica, fiscal, banca, derecho administrativo, zonas francas y resolución de disputas.

Actualmente, preside el Comité Legal de la Cámara Americana De Comercio de la República Dominicana (AMCHAMDR) liderando las deliberaciones y posicionamientos relativos a la inversión, estado de derecho y democracia y las relaciones bilaterales entre RD y EE. UU. Además, es miembro de la Comisión de Asuntos Jurídicos y Legislativos del Consejo Nacional de la Empresa Privada (CONEP). Ha sido reconocido como un profesional prominente en el marco internacional conforme a los estudios realizados por Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, entre otros. Recientemente fue reconocido como uno de los abogados más prestigiosos en el libro “Best Lawyers Dominican Republic” de la Revista Mercado.

Jaime Roca is the founding partner of ROCA. He holds a Doctorate in Law from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and a Master’s degree in Business Law and Economic Legislation from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). He is a lawyer and a leader in the legal field. Throughout his years as the head of ROCA, he has demonstrated his expertise in areas such as corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, franchises, intellectual property, economic regulation, taxation, banking, administrative law, free trade zones, and litigation, among others.

Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Legal Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR), leading discussions and positions related to investment, the rule of law, democracy, and bilateral relations between the Dominican Republic and the United States. He is also a member of the Legal and Legislative Affairs Commission of the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP). He has been recognized as a prominent professional in international rankings such as Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, among others. Recently, he was recognized as one of the most prestigious lawyers in the book “Best Lawyers Dominican Republic” by Revista Mercado.

En el evento confluyeron tres generaciones como exponentes, en donde compartieron sus experiencias en el inicio de sus respectivos despachos legales, también las anécdotas sobre sus primeros años en la profesión, los desafíos propios de todo emprendimiento, sus retos en sus distintos roles como esposas, madres y profesionales, así como los derechos sobre reservas de las mujeres en el marco legal.

Our partner Sharin Pablo de Roca was invited as a speaker by the Iberoamerican University (UNIBE) for a panel discussion on Law Firm Management, organized by the Law Student Group of the university, along with renowned lawyers Mary Fernández and Diana de Camps.

The event brought together three generations of speakers, who shared their experiences at the beginning of their respective legal practices, as well as anecdotes from their early years in the profession. They discussed the challenges inherent to any entrepreneurial endeavor and the rights reserved for women within the legal framework, along with the challenges they faced in their various roles as wives, mothers, and professionals.

We would like to express our gratitude to Gred-UNIBE and the Iberoamerican University (UNIBE) for promoting these spaces of thought and allowing us to honor our strategic objectives in the field of education and the promotion of best practices and professional ethics

Se trata de un programa de concientización de la Asociación Internacional de Marcas (INTA), con el objetivo de educar a los consumidores jóvenes sobre los peligros de la falsificación y la importancia de las marcas.

As part of our 25th Anniversary academic activities, our Intellectual Property team led by our partners, Sharin Pablo de Roca and Ana Paula Campusano, along with paralegal Annabelle Serra, are conducting educational campaigns in schools about “The Unreal Campaign.”

This program, organized by the International Trademark Association (INTA), aims to educate young consumers about the dangers of counterfeiting and the importance of trademarks.

We extend our gratitude to the educational institutions Saint Michaels School, Saint George School, Colegio Cristiano Logos, Ashton School, and Christian Community School, for their support in promoting a culture of respect for intellectual property rights.

ROCA reaffirms its commitment to promoting values related to intellectual property rights and the importance of protecting them. We take pride in contributing to the development of young leaders. It was a joy for our team to engage with students in these institutions.

El Dr. Jaime Roca, participo en la XIV Reunión Ordinaria de las Mesas de Trabajo del Gobierno Dominicano como miembro de la delegación de la Cámara Americana de Comercio de la República Dominicana (AMCHAMDR), encabezada por su presidente y vicepresidente ejecutivo, señores Edwin De Los Santos y William Malamud. La delegación oficial estuvo encabezada por el señor Joel Santos, Ministro de la Presidencia. La Dirección General de Aduanas estuvo representada por su subdirector, el señor Johannes Kelner en representación del director general, señor Eduardo Lovaton.

En el encuentro trimestral, se dio seguimiento a los avances en las estrategias sobre Nearshore, Huh Logístico, Burocracia 0 y Transformación Digital.

Our Dr. Jaime Roca participated in the 14th Ordinary Meeting of the Working Groups of the Dominican Government as a member of the delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR), led by its President and Executive Vice President, Mr. Edwin De Los Santos and Mr. William Malamud. The official delegation was headed by Mr. Joel Santos, Minister of the Presidency. The General Directorate of Customs was represented by its Deputy Director, Mr. Johannes Kelner, on behalf of the Director General, Mr. Eduardo Lovaton.

During the quarterly meeting, progress was made on strategies related to Nearshore, Logistics Hub, Bureaucracy 0, and Digital Transformation.
